THE OPPORTUNITY
As a critical member of the Talent Management team, you will help create a strong HR environment through continuous improvement of our end-to-end HR solutions, that underpins an exceptional employee experience. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources works closely alongside the HR Manager, you will focus delivering operational HR activities, managing employee data, and designing, improving, and executing efficient HR processes. Your administrative, operational, and analytical responsibilities will provide the opportunity to engage in the full-spectrum of the human resources function – through a unique data, operations and process-oriented lens – to elevate the presence of HR systems and practices across the organization.
As the successful candidate, you bring experience across a broad range of human resources areas, are a natural problem-solver, handle confidential information with maturity and sensitivity, and bring an innovative perspective to systems, process, and technology to support human resources practices as a critical enabler to the organization’s culture and success.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Provide exceptional customer service to our employees and managers as the first point of support and guidance for practices, policies, annual processes, and other people-related inquiries. You will create and manage an efficient systems for project management of department activities and tracking requests, follow-ups, and deadlines.
- Support the Talent team in delivering employee lifecycle processes, communication materials, budgeting, and collaboration with other departments. Additional support to the broader organization in areas including general office administration, events planning, and committee management will provide an opportunity to strengthen relationships and influence in this role.
- Lead the organization in delivering positive and impactful human resources programs, leveraging practices that provide both flexibility and structure, through a human-centric approach that encourages values-aligned behaviours. You will design intuitive data and file management structures, reporting functionality, and information flows to support timely and well-informed decision-making at all levels of the organization.
- Develop and execute initiatives that support a culture of engagement, inclusion, and learning by creating inclusive and accessible practices, fostering authentic communication, and gathering employee input.
- Ensure Pathways’ compliance in people policies, documents, and reporting across provinces in which we operate. While maintaining a strong foundation, you will continuously improve human resources systems, infrastructure, workflows, and practices to reflect industry-leading practices that reflect Pathways’ culture and brand.
- An example of fostering working relationships through in-person connection as reflected in regular participation in in-office time with peers as well as limited travel to Pathways’ programs sites and offices.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 3+ years related experience providing Human Resources support in an HR Generalist or similar role.
- Post-secondary education or training in Human Resources or related area; or equivalent career experience; CHRP in progress would be an asset.
- Technologically savvy; adept at Microsoft suite, can create impactful presentations.
- Has experience in administration of back-end systems such as human resource information systems, learning management systems, benefits portals, and applicant tracking systems. An exacting attention to detail, accuracy, and managing timelines.
- Exposure and practice with AI technologies, automation, and workflows.
- Excellent communication skills. Able to communicate with empathy and professionalism. Handles confidential information with the highest degree of discretion.
- The ability to anticipate problems, offer solutions, and ensure prompt follow-up and closure.
- Understanding of, and commitment to advancing, the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace.
- Desire to work in a non-profit environment and commitment to Pathways’ mission.
- Bilingual, English/French, would be a strong asset.
- Knowledge and/or experience working in Indigenous communities, an asset.
