Young people are not okay. It's time to take action.

For almost 25 years, Pathways has been helping young people living in low-income communities overcome barriers and build the foundation for long-term success. We see firsthand the difference that stable support from strong, community-based programs like ours can make.

But the reality is too many young people are still being left behind, and we cannot solve these challenges alone. We need adequate government policies and funding that prioritize young people’s well-being.

That’s why we’re asking you to take action today.

Simply sign your name

Sign your name on our pre-written letter and it will be sent directly to your Member of Parliament. MPs pay attention when thousands of voices come together. Your signature is a step toward real change.

You will be helping to advocate for:

  • A desperately needed increase in mental health resources for children and youth;
  • Empowered policies that confront the harsh reality of child poverty;
  • A transformative investment in programs that create opportunities for all young people.

When you speak up, you help build a Canada where every young person has access to the opportunities and supports they need to reach their full potential. Sign the letter and make a donation to help us expand the campaign and amplify your voice.

We're concerned, but we have HOPE. Together, we can demand change.

Pathways to Education is a proud member of The National Alliance for Children and Youth (NACY)—a network of organizations dedicated to improving the well-being of children and youth across Canada.

As part of NACY’s Young People Are Not Okay campaign, we’re calling on our supporters to join us in ensuring the voices of children and youth are heard during this Federal Election.

Hear directly from young people on how having the right support can make all the difference:

Andrea, Pathways alum

“Without Pathways, I probably would’ve never graduated high school. So, I want to be there and support future students and alumni in my community. And I want them to know that their happiness is important—Pathways will support them in pursuing their passions, whether that’s athletics, arts, hospitality, or anything else they’re interested in.”

“If I didn’t have access to these supports, I would have felt very lost. I am forever thankful to my support worker for his guidance and encouragement.”

Queenisha, Pathways alum

“I understand how hard my mom was working and trying to take care of us, so I didn’t want to burden her whenever school might not be going so great. Many times, Pathways was that anchor for me—it was a home away from home.”

Abir, Pathways alum

“The program has been around since I was born, and I’m grateful to see its long-term impact on my community.”

Alba, Pathways alum

“It’s amazing seeing how my involvement in a three-day opportunity branched out into all of this—from the connections to the scholarship and the work experiences. Pathways set me up for success, and I never would have been able to do this without them.”

Talon, Pathways alum

“Pathways is part of my story; I wouldn’t be who I am today without it. I’m proud to call myself a first-generation tradesman, musician, and entrepreneur. I’m breaking all the cycles.”

Nicolas, Pathways alum

“I was going through my developing years, and there were a lot of emotions involved. We also had our own financial difficulties as a result.”

Mars, Pathways alum

“I learned a lot about my own culture at Pathways. The program incorporated Indigenous culture, like the Seven Teachings: love, respect, courage, honesty, wisdom, humility and truth.”
